This role will elevate your communication skills to the next level in a mentoring environment. The Communications Coordinator supports the development and deployment of content for the Academy's print and digital communications including member magazine, meeting and conference programs, press releases, emails, and e-newsletters. This individual produces Academy communications for both members and external audiences including consumers, general dentists, and allied healthcare professionals. A recent college graduate should consider this opportunity.

The Communications Coordinator is a member of the Marketing and Communications Department and reports to the Senior Manager, Marketing and Communications. This individual must be familiar with print and digital platforms and remains current with emerging trends and best practices in communications.

What we are looking for:


  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university in communications or a related field
  • Experience writing/editing publications, newsletters, speeches, etc.

Communications Ability:

  • Creative and critical thinking abilities required
  • Interest and proficiency in writing and editing required
  • Print/digital production experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of AP style a plus

Computer/Digital Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
  • Experience using a media relations software preferred
  • Experience using an e-mail marketing system preferred
  • Understanding of social media platforms
